Anita Briem was born in Iceland. Anita Briesm, an Icelandic actor is known for her portrayal of Jane Seymour (the young woman that will eventually become the wife of Henry VIII) in the TV show The Tudors. Also for her role as Hannah in the 2008 film Journey to the Center of the Earth. Briem started her career as an actress at National Theater Iceland at 9 years old. When she was a young actress she appeared in a variety of plays in radio and television shows in her home country of Iceland. Briem was a child performer aged sixteen when she emigrated to London. She was a part of the adaptation of Lenin and the Count of Monte Cristo, performed in Love at the New End Theater. Briem was a student at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for three years, gaining the diploma of Drama.
